Bhutan has a a rich and unique cultural heritage. With it's deeply rooted Bhuddihst heritgage and the largely untouched natural environment, Bhutan is often regarded as The Last Shangri-la. Trekking in the Chomolhari region provides a wonderful opportunity to experience Bhutan's culture and environment. The Chomolhari mountain is sacred to local Buddhists who make an annual pilgrimage from Phari Dzong to the holy lake of Chomo Lharang at 5100 m just north of the mountain.
